Claude or Gemini: which subscription to take

Claude is better for long writing and work on code; Gemini is better for anything wired into Google services and search. Both have a free tier, and from Iran neither has an official payment route.

Specifications where both sides have a verified number

Claude Gemini
Free plan yes yes

A row where one side has no verified number is left out entirely, because readers read a half-empty row in favour of the filled side.

Why the table above has one row

Because there is exactly one spec we have a sourced number for on both sides. Claude's plan price is published on Anthropic's own page at $20 a month; Google's AI plan prices render in JavaScript and our server geolocates to Germany, so no figure exists in the raw HTML. A row with one filled cell is not a comparison, and readers read it in favour of the filled side, so it is not built at all.

That is a limit in our data, not a judgement about Google. The day a sourced figure turns up, the row goes in.

The difference you actually feel

Claude has projects: a set of files and instructions that persists between conversations. Gemini instead sits inside your Google account, reaching Gmail, Docs and Drive. The first suits someone carrying one defined piece of work across weeks; the second suits someone whose work is spread across Google tooling.

The Iran column, identical for both

Iran is on neither Anthropic's supported-countries list nor Google's. Neither takes a direct payment. The intermediary routes that genuinely exist, and what each one costs beyond its price, are written on the buying page.

Pick this if Claude

  • Your work is long writing, editing prose, or code.
  • You want one project with its files and instructions to stay alive for weeks.
  • A published, definite price matters to you: twenty dollars a month, on the vendor's own page.

Pick this if Gemini

  • Your work is glued to Gmail, Docs, Drive and Google search.
  • You upload files and sources and want answers that cite them.
  • You work on Android and want the same account everywhere.

Questions people actually ask

Which one understands Persian better

Both handle Persian well and we have seen no stable difference between them on Persian text. What actually changes the answer is the kind of work rather than the model: Claude for long Persian prose, Gemini for Persian search.

Which is easier to get from Iran

Neither has an official route. The practical difference is that Gemini has a free tier that comes up on some connections, but we do not record that as a stable fact because we have not run the independent measurement yet.
