Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check my site's rank on Google?
The simplest way is entering your domain and keyword in the tool at the top of this page, no sign-up, you'll see the real rank in a few seconds. If you want it checked automatically and repeatedly, use RGB Rank Tracker.
What does ranking on Google mean?
It means your page appears in Google's organic (free, not paid) results for a specific search phrase, at a position real users actually see and click. Practically, the lower the rank number, the more visibility.
Why does the rank this tool shows differ from what I see myself on Google?
Because the result you see yourself is personalized (based on your history and location), but this tool sends a neutral request, exactly what an average anonymous user sees.
Does this tool put my site's security or data at risk?
No. Only the domain and keyword you enter yourself are read from Google's public results; no access to your hosting, panel, or site files is needed.
How many times a day can I check for free?
To prevent abuse, there's a daily cap per IP address. If you need frequent, daily checks, a free Rank Tracker account gives you a much higher limit.
Why was no result found for my keyword ("30+")?
It means your domain isn't in Google's top 30 results for that keyword. You might be at rank 31, or not ranking for that phrase at all; the check's default depth is 30 results.
Can I see a keyword's rank in several different cities?
In the instant check on this page, you pick one city per check. To see several cities at once and compare them, use the Rank Tracker dashboard.
What should I do if my rank is low?
First, use our SEO analysis tool to see the page's technical and content issues. If you'd rather hand the whole job to a specialist team, our website SEO service is available right here.
How many days does it take for a new page to climb the rankings?
Usually a few weeks to a few months, depending on keyword competition and the domain's current authority. New pages usually appear at lower ranks first, then gradually climb if the content and user experience are good.
Is Google rank the same as rank in image search or Maps?
No. This tool only checks organic web search results. Ranking in Google Maps or image search has a separate system and separate factors, and isn't shown by this tool.
Does checking my rank negatively affect my site's speed or actual ranking?
No. This tool only reads from Google's public results, not from your site. No request is ever sent to your hosting or server, so it puts no load on your site whatsoever.
