Search Google in Iran for buying an Instagram page and most of the top results are not selling pages. They are selling followers. Those are two completely different products and you can tell them apart from the sales page alone.
Followers or a page
Selling followers means you hand over your own account and a number goes up. Selling a page means ownership of an existing account changes hands.
The first is something Instagram removes when it finds it, so you are paying for a number with a shelf life. The second is a real transaction, and it costs you the whole amount if it is done in the wrong order.
Five figures to see before you pay
A listing that states only the follower count has told you nothing. These five are the minimum a serious listing carries:

The risk nobody talks about
The biggest risk in buying a page is not fake followers. It is the account being taken back.
If the recovery email or the phone number on the account is still the seller's, they can reclaim it weeks later and you hold no evidence of anything. That makes the order of operations more important than the price: changing the recovery email, changing the phone number and removing the seller's devices from the account all have to happen before the payment completes, not after.

When you should not buy a page at all
If you are buying a ready-made page to avoid starting from zero, and its subject is not your subject, those followers are worth nothing to you. An audience that followed for comedy clips does not become a customer for industrial equipment; it unfollows.
The second case is when your whole strategy comes to depend on one platform. A page is not your asset. It is your access to another company's asset and it can be closed without explanation. If you want to build something you own, a site that belongs to you is the foundation a page pours traffic onto, not a substitute for it.
Questions people ask
How do I tell whether followers are real? Work out the engagement rate and look at the distribution of comments. One-word replies and emoji from accounts with no posts is the standard signature of bought followers.
How is a page priced? In practice on the revenue it produces rather than the follower count. A page that sells a certain amount monthly can be valued; a page that only has followers is priced by taste.
Is buying a Telegram channel the same? The logic is the same with one important difference: selling members and selling the channel itself are two separate things. In our marketplace only the channel itself changes hands.
