Seedance 2.5 or Kling 3: shot length against picture quality
Seedance 2.5 generates 30 seconds in one pass but stops at 720p; Kling 3 reaches 4K but runs 15 seconds. That is a real trade, and the right answer depends on where the video is going to be watched.

Twice the length, a third of the lines
Seedance 2.5 produces exactly double Kling's shot, 30 seconds against 15. In exchange it stays at 720 lines where Kling delivers 2160. For a story or a reel watched on a phone inside a feed, 720p causes no trouble and the extra length makes everything easier. For anything going to a large screen, or getting cropped in the edit, 720p runs out.
Fifty references, a number nothing else in this category comes near
Seedance takes up to 50 reference inputs. Kling takes 7. This is the widest gap between the two, and if your work turns on one character or one consistent style line, it decides the question by itself.
Something the previous version did not do
Seedance 2.0 reached 4K and 2.5 stops at 720p. That is a step backwards and we print it in the table exactly as it is: it is confirmed in ByteDance's own API documentation and shows up again in Runway's OpenAPI schema.
Pick this if Kling VIDEO 3.0
- The output has to beat 720p, because it goes to a big screen or gets cropped.
- You want to work inside an app rather than through an API.
- Fifteen seconds is enough for you and picture quality outranks length.
Pick this if Seedance 2.5
- You want a long shot and the destination is a phone and a social feed.
- You have many references: several views of a character, a style board, several angles of a product.
- You are working through Runway and want the per-second rate known in advance.
Questions people actually ask
Why does Seedance win our ranking at 720p
Because it is first in three of the five columns: shot length, reference count and controls. It loses the resolution column outright and scores zero on it. Our ranking is weighted rather than felt, and the full arithmetic is printed on the video category page.
Which one generates audio
Both carry synchronised audio. Neither lists Persian among its speech languages, so Persian work needs a separate voice pass either way.
